We are accepting bid proposals from active MICCAI Society members to host the MICCAI conferences in 2029 and 2030, which according to the agreed rotation between continents, will be held in Area 2: Europe, Middle East and Africa. A map of the Areas can be found here. Proposals for MICCAI 2029 and MICCAI 2030 shall be planned as an in-person event at a venue that can accommodate two tracks.

Intent to Bid submissions will be assessed by the MICCAI Conference Affairs Working Group and a selection of teams will be invited to further develop their proposal and present their bid to the MICCAI Board of Directors, who will make the final selection. 

Please refer to the Bid Guidelines to guide you when developing your proposal.

Note:  Only bids from active MICCAI Society members will be accepted. Bids are not accepted from Tourism offices or Convention Centres.

The MICCAI Society Board Secretariat and PCO can help in preparing bids. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to contact us at bidproposal@miccai.org at an early stage to discuss your proposal.

Deadlines are as follows:

• May 8, 2026: Notice of Intent to Bid Submission Deadline
• August 30, 2026: Full Bid Submission Deadline (Powerpoint presentation, Word document and Excel budget spreadsheet)
• September 26, 2026 (Saturday): Final bid presentations to the MICCAI board at the MICCAI 2026 Conference in Strasbourg, France. Presentations will take place in person. Please ensure to arrange your travel plans accordingly.
• October 15, 2026: Final decision
